Georganne White
"From childhood, I knew one thing – all of my life I would paint," admits Georganne White. Originally from San Francisco, she studied at the SF Art Institute in the 1960’s.
Since then, GW has used her talents to produce fine art, collaborations, advertising art, illustrations for children’s books, calendar art and more.
Whether a watercolor portrait, dramatic sunset on silk, expansive pastel landscape or playful mermaid created by collage, in GW’s work, the personality comes through. "Everything," she observes, "has a face."
Currently living near Port Orford on Oregon’s South coast, she also spends time in Santa Fe, New Mexico, as well as the East coast and SF Bay Area where she paints and teaches.
GW’s workshops and classes in watercolor, pastel and silk art are individualized to address each student’s skills and interests. She offers in-studio and plein air on-site art experiences for adults, children and families.
Rather than teaching a style, GW’s approach is to share techniques. "Explanation, demonstration and lots of time for experimentation is how I like to learn and how I enjoy teaching."
Known for her expressionist approach and distinctive style, GW’s work is available online, through galleries and by appointment at her studio.
