Robert Jamison
Following in the footsteps of my mother and aunt who were also accomplished artists; I have been painting ever since I was in the third grade. Some of my fondest memories were painting with my mother. My dad used to take me to the local fair to enjoy the carnival and rides, but watching painting demonstrations and looking at art was much more fascinating. This fascination led to a college degree in fine art and the opening of the first arts program at Eastern Idaho Technical College. I also taught night classes at Idaho State University and workshops at many local art galleries. Hundreds of students, 171 murals, 87 ribbons and awards, and many decorative art projects later, my artistic passion has blossomed into a full time career. "There is something about picking up a brush and turning a plain surface into something beautiful that really gives me a huge sense of gratification." Having your art on the outside of buildings and in people’s homes is the greatest compliment a person could get.
My work is done in mixed media. Brush, pallet knife and air brush are used to obtain the type of effect intended. All of my canvas (Giclee) prints are produced in my own studio by myself for quality control. I paint on location, which gives the prospective buyer a chance to see my work in progress and draws attention to my type of style. Being able to sell most of paintings on location gives me great satisfaction.
